About the Role:
The Regional Business Leader, Dermatology leads enterprise strategy by mentoring their team through regular face-to-face, in-field interactions with Healthcare Providers and Key Accounts to identify shared priorities, deliver clinical value, and provide Takeda resource messaging in a patient-centered approach—establishing Takeda as a preferred partner.

The role requires ownership of company priorities to maximize sales results, including hiring, leading, and developing a new team of representatives for a new product launch in a developing therapeutic area.

How you will contribute:
- Recruit, develop, retain, mentor, and lead a diverse team to deliver on strategic sales objectives; establish an accountability cadence, supervise KPIs, and engage all performance levels.
- Model leadership by encouraging a shared vision, setting clear expectations, promoting accountability, enabling others to act, and advancing processes by challenging the status quo.
- Develop, implement, and cultivate customer-centric business plans with customer engagement and cross-functional partners to optimize customer experience and product demand.
- Embed a customer-centric culture of results-oriented action; encourage speaking up, problem-solving, collaboration, compliant experimentation, and “fail forward.”
- Develop and implement market-based business strategies to achieve sales objectives and maximize product exposure; build plans using data and account/market analysis.
- Proactively evaluate business opportunities and provide recommendations and solutions to business challenges.
- Implement sales and marketing programs supporting U.S. growth in the assigned district.
- Hold self and team accountable for achieving sales and company objectives and goals.
- Ensure full compliance of all selling activities with applicable State and Federal regulations.
- Provide strategic input to Marketing for development and evolution of the marketing plan.
- Establish productive relationships with local, regional, and national Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).
- Develop internal professional working relationships and serve as a liaison with other functions and sales/marketing personnel.
- Collaborate with Regional and National Account Managers and Manage Markets partners to address managed market issues and maximize sales and product access.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA)
- Minimum 5 years of management-level experience in pharmaceutical, immunology, biologic/biotech, or medical device industries (e.g., district management, specialty account management, marketing management, and/or product management)
- Prior experience as a pharmaceutical sales representative with a proven track record
- Demonstrated business and strategic planning skills; adaptability to changing market conditions
- Ability to coach, delegate, and motivate a sales team; provide timely feedback
- Ability to analyze complex data to develop strategic and actionable plans
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint
- Comfortable with emerging technologies; adaptable to digital tools and AI-enabled processes
- Must reside in or within close proximity to assigned geography

Preferred:
- MBA or Master’s degree
- People leadership experience
- Established relationships with medical dermatologists
- Account-based sales experience (e.g., hospital, health system, or large group practice)
- Experience in Immunology/Dermatology or Gastroenterology
- Product launch experience

Licenses/Certifications:
- Valid Driver’s License

Travel Requirements:
- Travel 50–75% to support the region, including overnights
- Ability to drive or fly to meetings/client sites and attend local and national meetings/training

Takeda Compensation and Benefits Summary (as stated):
- U.S. Base Salary Range (California - Virtual): $176,000.00 - $242,000.00
- May be eligible for short-term and/or long-term incentives; medical/dental/vision insurance; 401(k) with company match; short-term/long-term disability; basic life insurance; tuition reimbursement; paid volunteer time off; company holidays; well-being benefits; up to 80 hours sick time per calendar year; up to 120 hours paid vacation for new hires.
