Role Summary

The Regional Business Leader, Dermatology is an enterprise thinker who leads cross-functional collaboration with Healthcare Providers and Key Accounts to identify priorities, deliver clinical value, and position Takeda as a preferred partner. They foster a high-performance, accountable, and compliant culture to execute the brand strategy and tactics. The role takes ownership of implementing company priorities to maximize sales results and will hire, lead, and develop a new team of representatives to meet and exceed expectations, including launching a product in a developing therapeutic area.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, develop, retain, mentor, and lead a diverse team to deliver on strategic sales objectives, establish a cadence of accountability, supervise KPIs, and engage all levels of performance.
  • Model the way for direct reports by promoting a shared vision, clear expectations, accountability, empowerment, and process optimization.
  • Develop, implement, and cultivate a customer-centric business plan with cross-functional partners to optimize customer experience and product demand.
  • Foster a hardworking, customer-centric culture where teams are engaged owners who take action, speak up, collaborate, experiment compliantly, and learn from outcomes.
  • Develop and implement market-based business strategies to achieve sales objectives and maximize exposure and opportunities for company products; build plans through data analysis and market assessment.
  • Proactively evaluate opportunities and provide recommendations to the Regional Sales Director and district sales team.
  • Implement sales and marketing programs to support Takeda’s plans for U.S. growth in the assigned district.
  • Hold self and the team accountable for achieving sales and Takeda objectives.
  • Ensure full compliance of selling activities with state and federal regulations.
  • Provide strategic input to Marketing for the development and evolution of the marketing plan.
  • Establish productive relationships with local, regional, and national KOLs within the geographic coverage area and assigned therapeutic areas.
  • Develop professional working relationships with internal partners and serve as liaison with other functions, as well as other sales and marketing personnel.
  • Collaborate with Regional and National Account Managers to stay current on managed market issues and implement initiatives to maximize sales, working with Managed Markets partners to achieve shared objectives.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree – BS/BA
  • Required: Minimum of 5 years of management-level experience in the pharmaceutical, immunology, biologic/biotech, or medical device industries including district management, specialty account management, marketing management, and/or product management, or the equivalent
  • Required: Recent dermatology experience and established relationship with medical dermatologists
  • Required: Prior experience as a pharmaceutical sales representative with proven success in selling and healthcare industry understanding
  • Required: Demonstrated business and strategic planning skills to identify selling opportunities and adapt to changing market conditions
  • Required: Demonstrated ability to coach, delegate, and motivate a sales team with timely feedback
  • Required: Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data to develop strategic and actionable insights
  • Required: Strong communication skills – verbal, written, and presentation
  • Required: Proficiency in MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint
  • Required: Comfortable with emerging technologies, adaptable to digital tools, and open to leveraging AI-enabled processes
  • Required: Must reside in or near the assigned geography
  • Preferred: MBA or Master’s Degree
  • Preferred: People leadership experience
  • Preferred: Established relationships with medical dermatologists
  • Preferred: Account-based sales experience (e.g., hospital, health system, or large group practice)
  • Preferred: Experience in Immunology/Dermatology or Gastroenterology
  • Preferred: Product launch experience

Additional Requirements
