Position Responsibilities
- Execute territory and account-based sales plans to achieve commercial goals in the SMA therapeutic area, including identifying key accounts, prioritizing centers of excellence, and managing physician relationships.Â
- Proactively prospect, develop and expand relationships with clinicians involved in SMA diagnosis and treatment (neurologists, pediatric neurologists, clinical geneticists, hospitals).Â
- Deliver product presentations, educational conversations, and scientific discussions in a compliant manner, tailored to varying HCP needs.Â
- Manage complex sales cycles, ensuring strong presence and consistent follow-up in academic and hospital environments.
- Provide expertise in national and/or regional market access related matters
- Raise awareness about SMA, diagnostic pathways, genetic testing, early intervention, and treatment value—aligned with the company’s overall value proposition and storyÂ
- Develop deep, trusted relationships with neuromuscular KOLs, SMA centers, and hospital pharmacistsÂ
- Represent the organization at congresses, regional neurology events, peer to peer and scientific meetings.Â
- Work closely with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Marketing, and Patient Support Programs to ensure cohesive support for HCPs and patientsÂ
- Communicate market insights, treatment barriers, and customer feedback to inform strategy and operational planning.Â
- Comply with German regulatory standards (AMG, HWG), promotional codes, and company policies
- Ensure transparent and ethical interactions with HCPs.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Health Sciences, Business, or related field.
- 7+ years of commercial experience in biotech/pharmaceutical field sales,
- Proven track record in rare disease, neurology, or SMA/specialty care markets.
- Strong experience working with KOLs, hospital structures, and complex patient pathways in Germany
- Experience in the  development of the German rare disease/SMA ecosystem
- Demonstrated success in product launches, national and regional Market Access activities, market development, and regional P&L leadership is a plus.
