Role Summary
The Regional Business Director (RBD) leads commercial activities for an assigned geography, builds and manages a team of Account Managers, and executes marketing strategies to ensure a successful launch of AUVELITY for major depressive disorder in adults, with potential future indications. This field-based, cross-functional leadership role requires travel to develop internal and external relationships and to drive regional performance within a digital-enabled sales structure.
Responsibilities
- Supervise regional operations, including driving results, hiring and coaching, account manager development, performance management, and prioritizing key accounts within the medical community
- Develop and implement strategic regional plans balancing live and virtual interactions and prioritizing team efforts
- Plan, organize, and drive regional performance through coaching and influence of direct reports
- Establish and maintain effective cross-channel communication among Region members and Accounts and Market Access teams
- Maintain technical expertise to respond accurately to product, marketing, policy, and business-related inquiries
- Work with direct reports to understand and meet established expectations; coach and develop selling skills, product knowledge, and capabilities
- Lead by example through coaching direct reports in live and virtual engagements
- Plan and conduct action plans and meetings with Region and Market Access teams
- Develop and implement Region business plans, manage Region budget, and assume overall P&L responsibility in alignment with regional/national expectations
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, policies, and processes
- Overnight travel as required
- Additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- Required: BA or BS; 5+ years of field leadership experience and/or payer account management and demonstrated sales success with increasing responsibility
- Required: Pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical marketing/sales experience with at least 3β5 years in a first-line leadership role
- Required: Proven ability to lead others to success through coaching influence; track record of delivering results and developing others
- Required: Proven ability to attract and retain top talent
- Required: Ability to work within the territory geography; comfortable with uncertainty and high expectations
- Required: Strong digital marketing aptitude; strong interpersonal and presentation skills
- Required: Ability to run multiple tasks concurrently under aggressive timelines in a dynamic environment
- Required: Current or recent Psychiatry disease experience strongly preferred
- Required: Successful launch experience strongly preferred
- Required: Must live within the territoryβs geography
- Preferred: Advanced degree
- Preferred: Experience with patient support services
