Role Summary
Regional Business Director (RBD) to lead commercial activities for an assigned geography, establish a team of Account Managers, execute marketing strategies, and ensure a successful launch. Responsible for regional sales performance, acting as a product champion with strong knowledge of the local marketplace, and leading a cross-functional front-line team to promote AUVELITY for major depressive disorder in adults and potential future indications. Field-based role with travel as needed to develop internal and external relationships.
Responsibilities
- Supervise regional operations including driving results, hiring and coaching, account manager development, performance management, and assigning priority accounts.
- Develop and implement strategic plans for the region balancing live and virtual interactions and prioritizing team efforts.
- Plan, organize, and drive regional performance through coaching and influence of direct reports.
- Establish and maintain effective communication among region members across cross-channel stakeholders in Accounts and Market Access teams.
- Maintain technical expertise to respond accurately to questions regarding products, marketing, policies, and business issues from customers and account managers.
- Work with direct reports to understand and execute established expectations; coach appropriate selling skills and product knowledge.
- Lead by example through coaching direct reports in live and virtual engagements.
- Plan and conduct meetings with Region and Market Access teams.
- Develop and implement Region business plan, manage Region budget, and take overall responsibility for P&L at Region level in alignment with regional and national expectations.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, policies, and processes; maintain fully compliant actions by self and team.
- Overnight travel as needed.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Required: BA or BS; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of field leadership experience and/or payer account management with demonstrated sales success and increasing responsibility.
- Previous pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical marketing/sales experience preferred with at least 3–5 years in a first-line leadership role.
- Proven ability to lead others to success through coaching and influence; track record of developing talent.
- Current or recent Psychiatry disease experience strongly preferred; successful launch experience preferred.
- Experience strategizing within teams using differential resources to reach goals; ability to manage multiple tasks under aggressive timelines.
- Must live within the territory geography; comfortable with uncertainty and high expectations.
- Patient support services experience a plus; strong digital marketing aptitude; strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
