Role Summary
Regional Account Manager I – Connecticut / Rhode Island is responsible for building relationships with targeted accounts that influence patient access and care, including payers, health systems, municipalities, coalitions, specialty pharmacies, federal agencies and employers. The role focuses on formulary placement, integrating Novo Nordisk brand awareness across customer organizations, and developing strategic account plans with cross-functional collaboration to expand market access. Occasional travel is required to meet with accounts and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Masters Product and Disease State Knowledge:
- Demonstrates a clear and thorough understanding of targeted disease states and their impact on all stakeholders/customers, as well as the full range of treatment options and clinical outcomes
- Utilizes knowledge of Novo Nordisk and competitor products to communicate effectively with key decision makers and differentiate products in alignment with customer and patient needs
- Demonstrates Business Acumen:
- Gathers and demonstrates understanding of integrated customer accounts, business models, financial dynamics, marketplace developments, competitive strategies, healthcare policy, and NNI strategies
- Adapts to area-specific market dynamics and adjusts business plans accordingly
- Coordinates, implements, and follows through on account contracts
- Keeps abreast of pricing changes and their impact on relationships and decisions
- Highlights NNI patient-centric resources when relevant
- Builds Business-Relevant Relationships:
- Develops and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders to execute aligned business plans
- Identifies key stakeholders who influence accounts
- Creates plans to gain access to, build, maintain, and leverage ongoing relationships
- Keeps customer information current in approved NNI CRM platforms
- Develops and Executes Business Plans:
- Identifies opportunities based on geography and customer understanding
- Develops leadership-guided business plans to facilitate access to the NNI portfolio
- Engages cross-functional teams to align opportunities and integrated account approaches
- Follows up with stakeholders to review product value, quality of care, and account satisfaction
Qualifications
- Required: A Bachelor's Degree
- Preferred: Master's Degree in a business-relevant field
- Preferred: Previous experience as a people manager
- Required: At least 5 years pharmaceutical/biotech/healthcare industry experience
- Required: At least 1 year of successful account management or other relevant healthcare market experience (Novo Nordisk experience may be substituted where appropriate)
- Preferred: Multiple channel and customer experience
- Preferred: Demonstrated ability to deliver effective customer presentations
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Master’s Degree in a business-relevant field preferred
Additional Requirements
- Physical travel: 30-40% overnight travel required; valid driver’s license required
- Must be in good standing with respect to Novo Nordisk motor vehicle record policies
