Summary Of Job:
The Rare Disease Specialist will drive the commercial launch and sales initiatives for Solenoโs product candidate DCCR for Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS), engaging healthcare professionals and serving as a compassionate resource to caregivers and families through education and relationship building.
Responsibilities:
- Build market development and brand awareness; execute a territory strategy/account plan to ensure product success through launch and beyond.
- Develop and nurture a territory strategy rooted in existing relationships and awareness.
- Conduct regular field visits and address issues.
- Engage providers across multiple points of call, including neurology, endocrinology, and psychiatry.
- Identify and enroll new and existing patients in treatment programs.
- Segment clinics and identify key stakeholders within target institutions.
- Maintain relationships with HCPs, office staff, caregivers, and families; conduct post-call analysis to refine tactics.
- Use emotional intelligence to adapt communication styles to HCPs and PWS advocacy groups.
- Monitor and report territory market dynamics and trends (prescriber opinion, competitive activity, PWS landscape).
- Report sales activities, performance metrics, and competitive insights to sales management.
- Collaborate with commercial departments (e.g., Patient Services, Medical Affairs) to align external stakeholders.
- Participate in sales strategy development to meet quarterly and annual targets.
- Prioritize and manage time, activities, and resources; ensure compliance with policies and industry regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of PWS and the healthcare landscape.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorโs degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Background in nursing, social work, nutrition (RD) or related field; rare disease experience is a plus.
- 5โ7+ years pharmaceutical industry experience with proven sales track record.
- Previous launch experience highly preferred.
- Rare genetic disease or specialty sales experience highly preferred.
- Strong analytical, communication, and influence skills; ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Ability to travel 60% of the time.
- Compliance/regulatory training background preferred.
- Experience in pediatric endocrinology or diabetes highly preferred.
