Role Summary
Rare Disease (RD) HIT Solutions Account Director - Central will lead the RD HIT strategic approach and customer engagement with identified leading health systems in the defined region. Work with health systems to harness their EHR to improve diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients within aligned therapeutic areas. Provide strategic support and guidance for leveraging platforms to evolve care from reactive episodic care to predictive and proactive management across the care continuum. Relevant functionalities include clinical decision support, standing orders, patient outreach and education, bi-directional data sharing and measurement/reporting tools.
Responsibilities
- HIT Solutions Account Director will serve as Pfizer's liaison with customer representatives (e.g., CIO, CMIO, Quality Director, EHR/EMR Leaders & Analysts) responsible for Health IT engagements within defined care projects and collaborations
- Provide technical support to the broader Pfizer Account Management community to help them understand Health IT strategies, use of Health IT resources, and assess Pfizer's needs related to customer needs and Health IT market evolution
- Provide input into RC-approved, scalable EHR/EMR enabled tools and resources related to key therapeutic areas
- Be a strategic thought partner within the Pfizer Account Team for regional health system trends related to care management evolution, quality and value-based care initiatives, and provider/patient satisfaction that impact HIT implementation and governance
- Serve as liaison across business units for Health IT-related issues and inform overall Health IT strategy
- Attend and share insights from major Health IT conferences and Pfizer Health IT summits
- Travel up to 35% as required
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree required; EHR certifications or advanced degree in Health IT/Informatics-related field required
- 5+ years of experience in the functional and technical application of health information technology
- Experience in functional and technical application of health information technology across inpatient and ambulatory settings
- Clinical integration experience across the care continuum
- Understanding of the Health IT landscape and relationships among vendors, data sources, etc.
- Hands-on experience with top EHR products preferred (e.g., Epic, Allscripts, eClinicalWorks, Cerner)
- Understanding of the impact of healthcare reform initiatives on the healthcare environment
- Excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills
- Excellent presentation skills
- Valid US driver's license with an acceptable driving record; disqualifying DUI/DWI or impaired driving within the past 7 years
Preferred Qualifications
- Cardiovascular and/or Hematology experience
- Leadership experience including influencing and collaborating with peers, coaching others, and guiding teams to achieve outcomes
- Ideal candidate resides in PA, OH, MI, IN, IL, WI, MO, KS or within the Eastern, Central, or Mountain time zones with access to a major airport
