About the Role:
The Rare Disease Business Manager (RDBM) drives sales and territory growth for narcolepsy type 1 by executing sales strategies, educating HCPs, and supporting demand generation for a new therapeutic option following regulatory approval.
How you will contribute:
- Results-focused execution to achieve monthly/quarterly/annual sales goals.
- Provide clinical expertise to support product education and drive demand.
- Implement sales/marketing plans using approved, on-label materials; advance diagnosis and treatment of NT1.
- Engage and educate specialty HCPs (e.g., sleep specialists, neurologists, pulmonologists) and sleep centers/clinic staff.
- Analyze business trends and use data to tailor local/regional strategies.
- Communicate effectively; use CRM for account documentation and call planning.
- Manage a territory budget consistent with compliance policies.
- Partner cross-functionally (Patient Access, Market Access, Marketing) to align strategies and tactics.
Expected skills (Required):
- Bachelorβs degree (BS/BA).
- 3+ years successful pharmaceutical/biotech/medical device selling (or relevant clinical/industry experience), or 2+ years selling experience at Takeda.
- Excellent verbal/written communication; ability to influence complex decision-makers.
- Territory planning/account management and strategic planning; interpret analytical data.
- Collaborative/matrix working skills.
- Understanding of payer access and reimbursement at territory/regional/state levels.
- Adaptability and learning agility; must reside within or near the territory.
Preferred:
- 5+ years pharmaceutical sales (rare disease or sleep disorders).
- Experience coordinating with patient access/market access; consultative/needs-based selling.
- Regulated marketplace experience; digital/AI-enabled process familiarity.
Travel:
- Drive/fly as needed; overnight travel up to 25β50%.
Compensation & Benefits (as stated):
- U.S. hourly wage range: $66.11β$90.91.
- Short-term incentives may be available.
