Responsibilities
- Drive sales and territory growth for narcolepsy type 1 (rare neurological sleep disorder).
- Collaborate with the Regional Business Leader and cross-functional, customer-facing teams to educate healthcare providers and help ensure appropriate patient access to a new therapeutic option (once approved by federal agencies).
- Support new product introduction in a new therapeutic area; gather insights and build relationships with targeted HCPs and accounts in the assigned geographic territory.
- After regulatory approval, generate demand by educating healthcare professionals with clinical information and in-depth product knowledge (orexin system and narcolepsy type 1).
- Implement sales and marketing plans using approved, on-label materials to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals; execute brand strategies and manage all business activities in the territory.
- Build relationships with and educate HCPs (sleep specialists, neurologists, pulmonologists, sleep centers, and clinic staff).
- Analyze local/regional/national business trends and use data to identify opportunities and tailor strategies.
- Use CRM to document account profiles, create pre-call plans, and record post-call activities.
- Manage a territory budget in line with company compliance policies.
- Partner with Patient Access, Market Access, and Marketing; provide feedback to Sales/Marketing leadership to improve tactics and performance.
- Adhere to compliance policies, guidelines, training, and relevant laws/regulations; seek clarification when unsure.

Qualifications / Required Skills
- BS/BA.
- 3+ years of successful selling experience in pharmaceutical/biotech/medical device and/or relevant clinical/industry experience; OR 2+ years of successful selling experience at Takeda.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to navigate complex selling environments and influence multiple decision makers.
- Strong business acumen and strategic planning.
- Territory planning, strategic account management, prioritization, and ability to interpret analytical data.
- Collaborative skills in a cross-functional matrix.
- Understanding of payer access and reimbursement (territory/regional/state).
- Adaptable to changing market conditions and customer needs.
- Learning agility to develop and apply clinical expertise and selling skills compliantly.
- Reside within the territory or close proximity.

Preferred
- 5+ years pharmaceutical sales experience, preferably rare disease or sleep disorders.
- Experience coordinating with patient access and market access teams.
- Relevant clinical/industry experience.
- Consultative/needs-based selling skills.
- Experience in highly regulated marketplaces.
- Experience with emerging technologies, digital tools, and AI-enabled processes.

Licenses/Certifications
- Valid Driver’s License

Travel Requirements
- Ability to drive and/or fly to accounts and occasional business meetings; up to 25–50% overnight travel.

Training Requirements
- Must successfully pass mandatory product training (written and oral examinations) as a condition of continued employment.
