Role Summary
Rare Disease Account Specialist for Fort Worth, TX, focused on rare CAH disease. Expert on practices, delivery networks, and patient populations within the territory, you will call on healthcare providers to support a first-in-class treatment and position Neurocrine as a leader in the Endocrine space. You will provide education and approved support from diagnosis through rare disease management, build collaborative relationships with COEs, academic institutions, health systems, physicians and clinics, and deliver high-impact, ethical customer experiences while leveraging brand messaging and digital tools.
Responsibilities
- Leads the implementation for the patient-centric model including physicians, staff, clinics, and applicable hospitals
- Develop and maintain strategic long-term relationships with COEs, Academic Teaching Institutions, key Health Systems, and relevant IDNs
- Serve as the authority on Neurocrine tools and resources to support physicians, pharmacists, and other health care providers
- Create, maintain and execute strategic business and account plans reflecting brand plan and local market conditions
- Master targeted disease states with deep understanding of patient journeys, standards of care, and treatment drivers
- Leverage clinical and scientific knowledge to execute local disease education and promotional programs
- Provide high level product expertise and customer service to all targeted accounts and stakeholders
- Expand expertise of treating/referring physicians, payers, hospitals, pharmacies, labs, and other care continuum components
- Navigate complex hospital settings to access targeted HCPs and key stakeholders
- Maintain strong payer relationships to inform on coverage and reimbursement; collaborate with payer access team to maximize patient access
- Foster relationships with patient advocacy groups to support education and disease awareness
- Engage with providers managing rare CAH patients and provide high-level clinical education
- Assist with steps to provide access to therapies, including testing procedures, site of care determination, and reimbursement education
- Provide educational support to underserved patient communities
- Collaborate with patient advocacy to support patients and the rare disease community
- Demonstrate outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with aptitude in networking, problem solving, negotiation, and relationship building
- Stay informed of industry and market trends; provide feedback during launch phases
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Required: BS/BA degree and 8+ years of sales experience in biotech/pharmaceutical sales, including 5+ years calling on prescribers of specialized, high-value products; proven launch experience in complex environments; experience with salesforce automation and BI tools (e.g., Salesforce, Oracle, SAP, Business Objects, COGNOS, QlikView, Veeva)
- Preferred: Master's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience; PhD with 4+ years of relevant experience
- Proven track record of sales success with quantifiable achievements and awards
- Experience in rare diseases preferred
- Prior experience calling on Key Accounts, COEs, and academic institutions
- Start-up or market development experience desirable
- Endocrine experience strongly preferred
- Experience with products in specialty pharmacy distribution/Hub Model
- Ability to analyze sales data to identify opportunities and address them
- Proficiency with Sales Force Automation and basic business software
- Strong organization, multitasking, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to influence and negotiate
- Passion for patient and caregiver programs
- Understanding of industry standards, customer segments, and market access fundamentals

Education
- BS/BA degree required; Master's degree preferred; PhD considered
