Role Summary
The Rare Disease Account Manager - HAE will lead the launch and sales growth of EKTERLY—the first and only oral on-demand treatment for hereditary angioedema (HAE) in the Central region’s St. Louis territory. This is a remote position covering Missouri, Iowa, and southern Illinois. You will drive demand through clinical selling, market development and brand recognition, while adhering to all compliance standards. We are seeking a deeply committed, high-performing professional focused on delivering exceptional patient care and advancing the HAE community.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a strategic plan for the territory, focusing on physician engagement, market development, and brand recognition. Continuously evaluate and capitalize on sales opportunities within the market
- Drive demand through clinical selling and educational initiatives targeted at HAE healthcare providers (HCPs) for EKTERLY
- Enhance relationships with HCPs through effective pre-call planning, personalized engagement strategies and reflective post-call analysis
- Establish and sustain communication with key thought leaders and internal partners to foster strong professional networks
- Organize and conduct key field activities such as educational lunch presentations, customer in-services, peer-to-peer programs and local & regional conference displays, Lunch & Learns and customer in-services, maintaining compliance with industry regulations
- Consistently meet or exceed sales objectives in the region
- Collaborate with the broader EKTERLY team and other internal stakeholders, including Leadership, Marketing, Market Access, Medical, Patient Access and Patient Support Services, to ensure comprehensive support and improved access for HAE patients
- Uphold the highest standards of integrity and adhere strictly to compliance guidelines
Qualifications
- Required: Minimum of seven (7) years in biotechnology/pharmaceutical sales, specializing in rare disease, including product launch experience and a track record of success.
- Required: Ability to travel throughout region regularly, and outside territory as needed, to include overnight and sometimes weekend travel. Should live in close proximity to a major hub airport
- Required: Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. As is typical of a field-based role, employees must be able, with or without an accommodation, to travel by automobile, train, plane or public transportation
- Preferred: Able to thrive in a dynamic start-up environment, demonstrating adaptability and a proactive approach to deliver tangible results
- Preferred: Superior verbal and written communication and organizational skills, coupled with the keen ability to influence external and internal stakeholders at all levels
- Preferred: Strong analytical, problem-solving and strategic-thinking skills with a high degree of personal accountability
- Preferred: Experience in HAE sales strongly preferred
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences, Biology (or similar scientific) or business-related field preferred
Skills
- Proven ability to lead and execute territory-level business planning in the Rare Disease market
- Candidates with a strong background in Rare Disease, Allergy, and Immunology will be considered
- Familiarity with relevant legal and regulatory pharmaceutical industry requirements
- Understanding and experience working with patient access and in-house patient support services required

- Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences, Biology (or similar scientific) or business-related field preferred
