The Solutions Architect, Senior Manager defines and drives end-to-end solution architecture for cross-functional R&D initiatives focused on clinical development, regulatory, and pharmacovigilance. Translate business needs into secure, scalable, interoperable solution designs enabling study execution, evidence generation, submissions, and pharmacovigilance operations.
Partner with Enterprise Architecture and R&D product/technology teams to align to enterprise standards and roadmaps, strengthen the R&D data ecosystem (data quality, provenance/traceability, governance), and lead architecture decisions in complex regulated environments. Influence stakeholders and mentor engineers/junior architects.
Accountabilities:
- Define and advocate target architecture, architecture vision, and ways of working.
- Support solution evaluation/selection (buy vs. build, vendor/product fit, sizing/estimation).
- Lead technical and solution design (discovery through delivery alignment).
- Produce architecture artifacts (target-state/solution architecture, integration and data flow designs) and support enterprise/peer design reviews.
- Ensure alignment to architecture standards/principles using common platforms and reusable patterns.
- Provide architecture guidance to delivery teams; resolve design risks/technical debt; align to IT/R&D strategies.
- Develop compliant architecture for regulated environments (validation, privacy, interoperability, dependencies).
- Architect information delivery, advanced analytics, and BI for clinical/regulatory/safety insights.
- Stay current on trends (clinical R&D, regulatory tech, pharmacovigilance, data, AI/ML) and translate into recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with privacy/security/data protection; promote auditability/traceability by design.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Bachelorโs degree or equivalent; Masterโs preferred.
- 5+ years in technology roles with progressive responsibility; pharma/biotech or other regulated industries preferred.
- Track record delivering end-to-end technology/process change; balance speed, quality, and risk.
- High autonomy; lead through ambiguity and drive decisions.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and mentoring.
- Detail-oriented; pragmatic, secure, compliant, supportable.
- Experience with regulatory compliance and healthcare/pharma data governance (clinical/regulatory and/or safety).
