Role: R&D Software Engineer specializing in instrument-control software for next-generation LC/MS and QToF mass spectrometry platforms. Core responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining hardware interface layers, device communication, and real-time data acquisition systems; collaborating with electrical, firmware, and systems engineers to integrate hardware designs; diagnosing complex hardware/software integration issues; optimizing software for reliability and performance; and contributing to long-term architecture. Qualifications: Bachelor's to Ph.D. in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or related fields; 8+ years in software development for scientific or hardware-intensive systems; strong skills in C, C++, C#, and experience with embedded systems, FPGA, communication protocols (Ethernet, USB, Serial, etc.), and hardware interfacing. Preferred: Experience in mass spectrometry, chromatography, spectroscopy; knowledge of high-speed data acquisition, FPGA/firmware development, distributed control architectures; proficiency in Python for automation; prior experience in regulated environments. High-Value: Focus on analytical instrumentation, mass spectrometry, hardware-software integration, real-time and multi-threaded software design. Work setup: onsite-hybrid; travel approximately 10%; full-time, day shift.
