Role: R&D Software/Firmware Engineer developing embedded software for Agilent's Gas Chromatography and sample-handling products. Objectives: design, develop, and test real-time control software, ensuring integration with hardware and cross-functional teams. Responsibilities: gather requirements, create embedded applications, libraries, and tools; deliver hardware control solutions; collaborate with software, electrical, mechanical engineers, and chemists. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering; 4+ years programming in C/C++; experience with real-time embedded systems, microcontrollers, hardware communication protocols (TCP/IP, RS-232/485); proficiency in algorithms and data structures; team-oriented. Preferred: familiarity with Linux, source control (Git), third-party libraries, additional languages (Python, Rust), GUI or FPGA development, object-oriented analysis, database concepts, Agile/Waterfall methodologies.
