Role Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and hard-working R&D Automation Engineer to join the Development team of the Automation Core. As a member of the Development team, you will collaborate with Regeneron researchers to transform validated benchtop assays into functional automated high-throughput processes on our integrated systems. The successful candidate will be versed in the latest automation technologies and be willing to work in fast paced team-oriented environment to support therapeutic focus areas and core technology groups in Research & pre-clinical Development.
Responsibilities
- Creating, modifying, and troubleshooting robotic methods on liquid handling devices (E.g., Hamilton STAR, etc.), integrated systems (E.g., HighRes Biosolutions, etc.), and supporting devices.
- Conducting validation testing of developed protocols to ensure qualification for release into operations.
- Transferring and revalidating established processes to other Automation Core systems.
- Working with instrument vendors and our internal system support engineer to implement hardware/software upgrades and changes to the existing platforms.
- Providing hands-on training to team members on new equipment, methods, and procedures.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s or Master’s in life science, engineering, computer science, or related field with 3–5+ years of experience working with automation systems in a research laboratory environment.
- Preferred: Wet lab experience and understanding of molecular biology, genomics, or cell-based assays.
- Required: Experience in programming and operating liquid handling methods.
- Preferred: Programming in Venus and developing and implementing methods utilizing Cellario.
- Preferred: Knowledge of Python and C#, robotic integrations, and databases.
- Preferred: Familiarity with commonly integrated laboratory devices from Azenta, Agilent, Inheco, Revvity, etc.
