Role Summary

R&D Automation Engineer responsible for transforming validated benchtop assays into automated high-throughput processes within the Automation Core. Collaborates with Regeneron researchers to support therapeutic focus areas and core technology groups in Research & pre-clinical Development. Applies latest automation technologies in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Creating, modifying, and troubleshooting robotic methods on liquid handling devices (e.g., Hamilton STAR) and integrated systems (e.g., HighRes Biosolutions), including supporting devices.
  • Conducting validation testing of developed protocols to ensure qualification for release into operations.
  • Transferring and revalidating established processes to other Automation Core systems.
  • Working with instrument vendors and internal system support to implement hardware/software upgrades and changes to existing platforms.
  • Providing hands-on training to team members on new equipment, methods, and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Required: Minimum Bachelor’s/Master’s in life science, engineering, computer science, or related field with 3–5+ years of experience working with automation systems in a research laboratory environment.
  • Preferred: Wet lab experience and understanding of molecular biology, genomics, or cell-based assays.
  • Required: Experience in programming and operating liquid handling methods.
  • Preferred: Programming in Venus and developing/implementing methods utilizing Cellario.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of Python and C#, robotic integrations, and databases.
  • Beneficial: Familiarity with laboratory devices from Azenta, Agilent, Inheco, Revvity, etc.

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in life science, engineering, computer science, or related field.
