Position Summary
The Quality Control (QC) Specialist- Incoming supports inspection of inventory reagents, R&D materials, consumables, finished goods, and kits sent to customers to ensure required quality standards and regulatory compliance. Performs detailed inspections to confirm conformity to established specifications. Assists QC leadership in planning and conducting inspection activities in the lab and receiving area.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform QC inspections of reagents, consumables, and R&D materials against acceptance criteria.
- Inspect manufactured products to verify components and labeling meet regulatory/quality requirements.
- Inspect customer-bound sample and test-specific collection kits.
- Develop/maintain inspection methodologies; create SOPs and job aides.
- Initiate deviations in eQMS when specifications are not met; participate in CAPA investigations.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation.
- Support other QC functions with regulatory documentation.
- Collaborate with supply chain, QA, and lab operations to meet requirements while adhering to regulations.
- Work with cross-functional/supplier teams to address top quality issues.
- Coordinate with supplier quality teams to develop vendor performance metrics.
- Identify and recommend QC process improvements; assist with training QC staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma with 1–2 years in material management, quality control, or related field.
- Hands-on Incoming Quality Control inspection experience.
- Working knowledge of Quality Systems (document control, audits, management review).
- Ability to work independently in a regulated environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree; FDA-regulated industry knowledge.
- Willingness to learn/adapt; proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Physical Demands
- Sit/stand/work at computer; visual acuity; pass color discrimination test; lift up to 30 lbs.
