Role: Laboratory Instrument Technician supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing at Novo Nordisk's Durham facility, focusing on repair, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation. Responsibilities include scheduling third-party service resources, documenting activities, performing equipment validation according to GMP standards, and supporting systematic problem-solving and investigations. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or related field with at least 5 years of industry experience; alternative combinations include an Associate’s degree with 7+ years or a high school diploma with 9+ years of lab instrumentation expertise. Must have hands-on calibration, repair, and maintenance experience in pharma labs, strong problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. Preferred skills: experience with LIMS, lab automation software (Waters Empower), MS Office, SAP modules (PM/QM). High-value specifics: support for process validations within pharmaceutical manufacturing, GMP compliance, expertise in lab automation and data systems. Relationships: reports to Manager or Senior Manager. Work setup: on-site at Durham, with physical demands including material handling, working at heights, and hazardous materials handling.
