Role Summary
Program Management Lead – Content Transformation
Responsibilities
- Lead and constantly refine integrated governance across transformation to align priorities with Amgen’s enterprise strategy.
- Provide senior leadership with weekly status, structured insight into program health and business value delivery, interdependencies, and risk.
- Act as a strategic partner to executive sponsors—translating strategic direction into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.
- Drive decision-making cadence and alignment by facilitating structured governance forums, including the Cross-Functional Executive Committee and Transformation Steering Committees.
- Oversee cross-functional delivery across multiple transformation workstreams, ensuring execution rigor, achievement tracking, and dependency management.
- Facilitate cross-synchronization sessions with business and tech leads, and leadership readouts to ensure continuity and connection across initiatives.
- Maintain comprehensive program documentation, RACI matrices, and decision logs in alignment with program management frameworks.
- Partner with leads to anticipate resource needs, surface delivery risks, and recommend mitigations.
- Lead quarterly MVP planning sessions across workstreams to provide one comprehensive timeline and roadmap and ensure all relevant partners are informed of outputs.
- Lead financial governance at program-level, ensuring clear insight into budget utilization, vendor performance, and forecast accuracy.
- Drive submission preparation and documentation for formal financial approval requests, ensuring accuracy, alignment with business case, and timely delivery. Partner with Finance and cross-functional leads to develop materials and ensure senior leadership is fully briefed and prepared to represent program priorities and funding needs at financial meetings.
- Track program budget burn and resource allocation, calling out potential constraints to executive sponsors quickly.
- Establish a standardized reporting framework that integrates KPIs, metrics, and performance dashboards to track transformation progress and outcomes at program-level.
- Collaborate with business leads to define measurable success indicators tied to adoption, speed-to-market, savings, and engagement quality, rolling them up to program-level.
- Translate operational data into insights for senior leadership to inform prioritization, investment, and change management decisions.
- Provide Portfolio Management Office with metrics and updates for reporting.
- Ensure program-level KPIs are consistent and delivered on time for QBRs.
- Develop and implement program-level change management strategies which incorporate change management needs of all workstreams – securing senior leadership consensus, supporting adoption of new capabilities, processes, and governance practices.
- Partner with Cross-Workstream Communications Team to align messaging, timing, and readiness activities across partner groups.
- Craft concise executive narratives to communicate program outcomes, breakthroughs, and decisions across the global enterprise.
- Maintain a centralized risk and issue register with defined escalation pathways and accountability owners.
- Conduct quarterly retrospectives and continuous improvement sessions to refine PMO operations and decision frameworks.
- Ensure consistent application of program management standards across planning, execution, and governance documentation.
- Promote a culture of operational rigor, clarity, and proactive problem-solving across transformation teams.
Qualifications
- Basic Qualifications:
- Doctorate degree and 3 years of experience in program or portfolio management, preferably within enterprise transformation or PMO leadership roles
- OR Master’s degree and 5 years of experience in program or portfolio management, preferably within enterprise transformation or PMO leadership roles
- OR Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of experience in program or portfolio management, preferably within enterprise transformation or PMO leadership roles
- OR Associate’s degree and 12 years of experience in program or portfolio management, preferably within enterprise transformation or PMO leadership roles
- OR High school diploma / GED and 14 years of experience in program or portfolio management, preferably within enterprise transformation or PMO leadership roles
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Business, Technology Management, or Organizational Leadership.
- PMP, PgMP, or PMO-CP certification.
- Experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, or other regulated global industries.
- Familiarity with enterprise transformation frameworks, Agile delivery models, and data-driven performance measurement.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives that span business, data, and technology domains.
- Demonstrated expertise in governance operations, partner engagement, and executive reporting.
- Proficiency in financial oversight, vendor management, and forecasting.
- Strong analytical mentality with the ability to design and interpret performance dashboards.
- Exceptional communication, facilitation, and influence skills across matrixed environments.
- Successfully collaborate with global capability centers or offshore delivery teams.
