Position Summary
The responsibilities of this position are to monitor, direct and motivate the performance of a team of Production Technicians. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to devise and implement process improvements to increase workflow efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise a team: set goals, performance management, career development, oversee daily work while contributing to daily lab projects.
- Mentor, train, and motivate personnel; work side by side with employees in the lab.
- Ensure product is manufactured according to deadline.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on troubleshooting and process/product improvement experiments.
- Organize daily laboratory activities including safety, maintenance, supplies, and equipment calibration.
- Provide technical guidance; help resolve technical problems; increase team knowledge.
- Address employee issues; serve as a professional role model.
- Attend meetings and ensure action items are completed.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase workflow efficiencies.
- Draft and revise SOPs as needed.
- Follow company policies and safety guidelines.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; 2–4 years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated leadership capacity required.
- Previous leadership experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of laboratory equipment, including instruments related to hematology.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel (required).
- Planning, organizational, multitasking; ability to work independently and collaborate.
- Problem solving and evaluation of alternatives.
- Leading/supervising skills; strong professional communication (oral and written).
- Interpersonal relationship skills; train new employees.
- Ability to handle sensitive/proprietary information with discretion and confidentiality.
