Production Maintenance Technician 2 (2nd Shift)

Role: Equipment Maintenance Technician supporting Illumina's manufacturing operations at their San Diego site. Responsibilities: perform high-complexity maintenance tasks on sophisticated equipment, troubleshoot electrical/mechanical/optical systems, plan and execute calibrations, preventive maintenance, and support continuous improvement. Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve advanced issues and optimize equipment reliability. Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent with 4+ years of related experience; proficiency in mechanical, electrical, optical, and fluidic troubleshooting; strong documentation skills; familiarity with GMP, manufacturing environments, and engineering tools preferred. High-value: supports biologics or molecular diagnostics manufacturing, working in regulated, high-volume production settings, with some experience in automated liquid handling and analytical equipment. Work setup: 2pm-10:30pm M-F, with potential weekends, some travel up to 10%, and environment requiring physical activity including lifting up to 50 pounds.
