      Role Summary
 The Production Engineering role provides technical expertise and solutions to support quality and operations at Perrigo's New York manufacturing and packaging site. It involves exploring innovative solutions to meet business needs, collaborating with Engineering, Validation, Quality, and Operations teams, and interacting with plant managers, supervisors, maintenance, safety, and scheduling to implement changes and investigate/resolve problems impacting safety, quality, and efficiency.  Responsibilities
 
  - Day to Day Operations: Review the previous 24 hours of production data on designated work centers, address urgent business needs, troubleshoot, contact vendors, perform Gemba support, propose solutions to root causes of downtime, track line efficiency, and monitor changes to ensure ROI.
 
  - Lean Six Sigma: Lead continuous improvement projects aimed at waste reduction and efficiency improvements; align with cross-functional partners on project prioritization; work independently or in a team to develop and implement solutions; apply DMAIC problem solving.
 
  - Subject Matter Expert (SME): Act as technical expert on packaging equipment and technology; provide training; apply core engineering principles; solve complex technical problems; ensure compliance with regulatory and quality requirements.
 
  - Capital Projects: Prepare project scopes, cost estimates, and economic justifications; support equipment installations and process improvements; provide URS, FAT, IQOQ, PQ support and vertical startup; act as project manager and coordinate with multiple departments, consultants, and contractors.
 
  - Quality Investigations and Deviations: Investigate root causes of quality incidents; make recommendations and dispositions; plan and implement CAPAs to address quality concerns.
 
 
 
 Qualifications
 
  - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Engineering Management preferred).
 
  - 3–5 years of direct engineering experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
 
  - Understanding of engineering fundamentals of equipment operation; ability to read drawings, flowcharts, and schematics.
 
  - Experience with Lean and Six Sigma and continuous improvement techniques.
 
  - Ability to perform sound economic analyses and financial judgment; ability to work toward broad goals and initiate projects; meet deadlines in a team environment.
 
  - Experience with quality systems in FDA current GMP environments preferred; hands-on knowledge of production operations and control systems preferred.
