Role Summary

Production Associate I - Cell Culture (Sunday-Thursday) is an entry-level manufacturing role focused on producing HEP & HDF cells in a level 10,000 clean room environment under supervision, with responsibilities including spinner preparation, seeding, maintaining, and harvesting cells, as well as assisting in cell banking as required.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacture cells according to established MBRs and OPs
  • Adhere to all OPs, protocols, policies, regulatory requirements, GMP, and safety guidelines
  • Ensure cell culture paperwork is complete and compliant with all protocols
  • Operate clean room equipment properly
  • Maintain required records and adhere to QC procedures, GMPs, and safety guidelines
  • Assist in developing, collecting, trending, and analyzing cell culture technical data

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Biology or related science strongly preferred. A Certificate or A.S. in Biotechnology with 3-5 years' relevant experience will be considered
  • Direct experience with cell banking, cell culture, and/or fermentation highly desired
  • Prior experience in general lab techniques including aseptic technique, cGMP and clean room protocols is desired
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Aseptic technique, basic lab techniques (pipettes, balances, etc.)
  • Physically capable of remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
  • Strong communication skills and ability to exchange information effectively
  • Attention to accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Biology or related science preferred; Biotechnology certification or AS with relevant experience considered

Additional Requirements

  • Medium work with moving objects up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment for extended periods
