About This Team

Reporting into senior leadership, our Development team is the front line in shaping the future of OPH. We are charged with identifying and building breakthrough solutions within Otsuka and beyond, with our work being grounded in relevant problems plaguing today’s health experience. Product is a core element of this team, with responsibilities spanning product management and product development in key priority areas.

Working side-by-side with members of decision science, strategy, marketing, health experience, and other teams, our product experts are shaping how OPH creates solutions that matter in the prediction, prevention, and management of conditions related to women’s health, the mental and behavioral spaces, and overall well-being.

About This Role

An OPH Product Manager brings a unique blend of product management and product development experience. With a focus on driving Zero-to-One Innovation and setting the organization up to scale beyond that, our PMs are focused on ensuring that what we build stems from an understanding of individualized needs along a health journey where OPH can distinctively serve in reducing fragmentation within the health experience. This is all in pursuit of giving each person a better quality of life for longer while contributing to the long-term growth of OPH beyond today’s capabilities and product and service offerings.

As we build out this capability for OPH, you will contribute directly to the creation of new solutions and the growth of a world-class, mission-driven Product organization. This role will report directly into our Senior Management Team (SMT). Success in this role will be directly tied to objectives related to our innovation pipeline, end-user-centered development, scalability of solutions, collaboration, and potential for business growth.

Within your first 30 days, you will have:

  • Developed an understanding of the Otsuka and OPH corporate brands, our story both past and present, SOPs, and how OPH fits within our parent company.
  • Built an understanding of our current strategy, team, products, and service offerings and how our work aligns to our parent and sister companies.
  • Begun understanding problems-to-solve within one of our focus areas and prioritizing based on pre-determined criteria.
  • Begun developing foundational insights related to market, customers, and end-users to validate needs related to the problems.
  • Begun shaping the initial solution space for the priority problems without constraint for current status quo along with a perspective on how to balance internal and external innovation.

Within your first 60 days, you will have:

  • Identified multiple potential POC opportunities aligned with our product strategy for your focus area.
  • Prioritized your first POC target based on market potential, organizational fit, feasibility, and growth impact.
  • Established clear success criteria and metrics for POC evaluation that align with our growth strategy and patient outcomes.
  • Built a rapid validation approach with learning/feedback cycles that enable quick iteration.
  • Initiated your first POC development effort (e.g., wireframing, prototyping, etc.) with internal and/or external collaborators.
  • Distilled learnings into improving existing Development framework and processes within OPH.
  • Worked with OPH leadership and Ops to evangelize Development’s ways of working.

Within your first 90 days, you will have:

  • Delivered your first POC with clear evidence and business case to enable investment and scaling decisions.
  • Developed a backlog, and begun parallel exploration of your second POC opportunity while maintaining momentum on your first initiative by supporting scale-up, deployment, and/or launch efforts.
  • Developed a baseline for POC cycle time and begun to create a repeatable innovation process that shortens the POC cycle time for design, development, evaluation, and investment decisions.
  • Created data analytics frameworks to measure effectiveness and drive continuous improvement in Development.

By the end of your first year, you will have:

  • Transitioned 2+ POCs into to scaling solutions in market with measurable impact on health outcomes, quality of life, and business growth.
  • Completed 5-6 POCs, reaching a natural decision point while ensuring continuous improvement by codifying and building from learnings in each development project.
  • Defined user feedback mechanisms to inform future product development in support of achieving continually improving customer satisfaction from new solutions initiated within your focus area.
  • Shown your prowess as a champion for following the problem-needs of end-users and OPH’s target customers with creativity, rigor, and resilience.

Other responsibilities may be assigned based on OPH strategy considering the successful candidate’s skillset and knowledge.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 3-5 years of product management, product development, product design experience at a healthcare or technology organization.
  • Experience across product management and development.
  • High level of self-awareness and emotional intelligence.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with skills a proven ability to work effectively across functions and at all levels of an organization.
  • Current U.S. work authorization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (e.g., Master's, PhD, MD/DO or equivalent).
  • 10+ years of experience in a product role at a top-tier technology-first company.
  • Demonstrated experience in taking solutions from idea to proof-of-concept to scale.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements associated with data applications (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, etc.).
  • Desire to continue the improvement of total healthcare and how health experience contributes to that.
  • High level of intellectual curiosity.
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills, with an ability to think beyond the status quo or what is an accepted way of working.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a positive, collaborative manner in the face of ambiguity.
  • Experience working globally, specifically with colleagues in Japan, the U.S., and Europe.

Salary Information

Minimum $146,955.00 - Maximum $219,650.00, plus incentive opportunity: The range shown represents a typical pay range or starting salary for candidates hired to perform the work. Other elements may be used to determine actual salary such as the candidate’s job experience, specific skills, and comparison to internal incumbents currently in role.
