REPORTING LOCATION: Remote

REPORTS TO: VP of Global Marketing

Primary Objective

Champions Oncology is seeking a Product Manager to join our marketing team. This is a newly created role designed to build and scale product management excellence across our preclinical oncology services portfolio. The Product Manager will be responsible for defining product strategies, shaping market positioning, and driving growth initiatives across multiple platforms. Over time, this role will serve as a foundation for a broader product management function, with additional hires expected as the portfolio expands.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in preclinical oncology CRO services and combines strong scientific knowledge with commercial acumen. They are equally comfortable engaging with scientists, business development, and senior leadership to align product strategy with customer needs and market opportunities.

Duties, Responsibilities and Productivity Expectations

Strategy & Portfolio Management

  • Own the product strategy and lifecycle management for assigned platforms and services within the oncology portfolio.
  • Conduct market sizing, segmentation, and opportunity assessments to guide investment decisions.
  • Build and maintain a portfolio roadmap informed by scientific innovation, competitive intelligence, and customer insights.
  • Define clear value propositions and differentiation strategies against competitors.

Go-to-Market & Commercial Enablement

  • Partner with marketing colleagues to develop and execute go-to-market strategies for new and existing services.
  • Create compelling product messaging, positioning, and content for campaigns, sales tools, and customer engagement.
  • Support training programs for BD and sales teams to ensure consistent and accurate articulation of product value.
  • Provide input into pricing, packaging, and revenue models to maximize growth and profitability.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with R&D, scientific leaders, and operations to align product offerings with market demand.
  • Engage with customers and key opinion leaders through Voice of Customer programs, advisory boards, and conferences.
  • Partner with corporate development to evaluate partnership or licensing opportunities that strengthen the portfolio.

Market Insight & Analysis

  • Monitor industry trends, competitive activities, and scientific advancements to anticipate market shifts.
  • Translate complex scientific information into actionable strategies and clear marketing narratives.
  • Track product performance against KPIs and make data-driven recommendations for optimization.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to effectively manage cross-functional projects and ability to prioritize, adhering to timelines.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Effective cross-functional communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task.
  • Critical thinking and scientific and commercial acumen.
  • Experience with scientific writing.
  • Strong leadership skills and proven ability to influence others to reach common goals as well as act independently.
  • Proficiency With Microsoft office and popular marketing applications required.
  • Proficiency using HubSpot Inbound Marketing platform required.
  • Project and product launch experience is recommended.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a life science discipline; PhD in oncology, pharmacology, or related field strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate science into commercial value.
  • 3–7 years of experience in product management, product marketing, or strategic marketing, ideally in a preclinical oncology CRO environment.
  • Strong understanding of in vivo models, CDX PDX, GEMM, and 3D in vitro models, such as PDO PDXO.
  • Radiopharmaceuticals, ADCs, or related drug development services are an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and execute product strategies that drive measurable business impact.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time using a computer in a typical office environment.
