Role Summary
The Product Specialist is an entry-level product management role within the Strategic Product Management Team. Supports products across a wide portfolio, helping to standardize processes, manage pricing, project management, collateral review, documentation, and market/data analysis. Collaborates with customers and prospects to develop and improve products based on domain experience.
Responsibilities
- Assistance with the Pricing process: price setting, discount schedules, pricing updates, pricing across channels globally, and price positioning analysis.
- Project management: assist or lead execution of new and/or existing business priorities to ensure timely completion.
- Collateral Review: develop and review marketing, commercial, and training materials; update customer-facing content; support competitive battlecards and product positioning documents; create or update training materials.
- Sales communication: plan and execute regular sales meetings, including agenda, logistics, and action items.
- Market & Data Analyses: maintain or create market analyses and other data analyses, including competitor profiling and pricing, market positioning, benchmarking, and customer profiles.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education and Experience: Bachelorโs degree in a scientific field with 0โ1 years of experience or 2โ5 years of related experience; relevant laboratory or technical experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Functional knowledge of scientific products and markets; ability to gain in-depth knowledge over time.
- Aptitude in product/customer/sales analysis to define strategies and launch products.
- Ability to work independently and drive product management projects.
- Strong planning, organization, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills.
- Proficiency with computer applications and data analysis tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Salesforce.com) and ability to learn ERP/databases.
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills; ability to interact with all organizational levels and customers.
- Discretion and confidentiality with sensitive information.
- Travel up to four times per year as required.
