Product Development Specialist

Role: Product Development Specialist focusing on optical mechanical solutions. Responsibilities: lead complex technical projects, develop mechanical models of adhesives and thin films for optical systems, engage with key customers to address technical challenges, coordinate test method development, provide technical guidance on materials performance, and contribute to intellectual property generation. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in science or engineering; 5+ years in mechanical modeling and applied mechanics, preferably in private, public, government, or military sectors. Preferred: Master's degree in Physics, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or Material Science; experience with adhesive and soft materials modeling, interfacial failures, fracture mechanics, and optical system impacts; strong collaboration and communication skills; results-oriented and growth mindset. High-Value: Mechanical modeling, applied mechanics, optical system performance, adhesive and soft materials, intellectual property generation. Work setup: On-site (at least four days/week) in Maplewood, MN, with up to 15% domestic/international travel.
