Role Summary
Procurement Site Associate for the Massachusetts Bio Campus (Framingham, MA). You will support strategy development and execution for Direct and Indirect procurement, collaborate with Global Lead Buyers and site stakeholders, and drive site-level savings while ensuring supplier performance and alignment with global procurement objectives.
Responsibilities
- Strategy: Support Global Lead Buyers and Category Managers on strategy development and execution for Direct & Indirect.
- Support Budget & Strategic planning by continuously identifying and monitoring cost reduction project pipelines, communicating on market index evolution, and applying Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) to deliver target savings and value for the site and the GBU.
- Contribute to the alignment of site priorities with overall GBU 3rd party expenses cost reduction, risk reduction (led by Critical Material Management Team or equivalent) and sustainability goals.
- Anticipate and consolidate all business needs (supply risk, new sourcing, crisis management) while driving the development of new market opportunities (new suppliers, new technologies, new product launches, capex development, transfers, substitution products, etc.).
- In collaboration with Critical Material Management Team or equivalent, contribute to define and implement the site strategic plan to reduce the site material sourcing risk exposure.
- Operational: Master site’s spend profile (key products material BOM, spend map by category, Pareto of spend, global/local suppliers, preferred/non-preferred, mono or dual sourcing…etc).
- Deliver world class total savings objectives for all domains (Direct & Indirect) within the site perimeter.
- Challenge status quo, internally and externally, to identify continuous pipeline of local & global initiatives to achieve savings objectives.
- Own supplier-related actions; other teams steer projects requiring technical validation and site resources.
- Ensure the right application of global contracts' Terms & Conditions, including global volume allocation decisions; ensure accuracy of Procurement-related information in Purchase Info Records (PIR).
- Support Vendors’ service and quality improvement roadmaps as agreed with the GBU and Site; ensure implementation of actions required from global or local vendors.
- Track supplier quality and delivery performance at site level and contribute to SRM with Global Category Buyers.
- Support local stakeholders in solving major/recurring supply, quality, and payment delay issues; escalate as needed.
- Provide reporting information for categories (PPV, technical savings, indirect savings, supplier performance) using different tools.
- Business Partnering: Develop strong relationships with external partners (suppliers) and with M&S site stakeholders (Supply Chain, Finance, Manufacturing, Technical teams, Quality, SMS, etc.).
- Engage with technical lead specifiers from Operations, MSAT and Engineering; maintain clear communication with Procurement community to align tools, practices, and priorities.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s degree; degrees in Sciences, Engineering or Business ideally with procurement exposure.
- Required: At least 1 year of experience in procurement or another relevant field.
- Preferred: Knowledge of Pharma, Biologics or FMCG, or Bioprocess.
- Required: Excellent written and spoken English.
- Preferred: Demonstrated knowledge of procurement systems, processes and procedures.
- Required: Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs.
- Required: Strong analytical skills.
- Required: Strong appetite for supplier interactions and negotiations.
- Required: Good communication and interpersonal skills.
