The Senior Manager will lead strategic sourcing and supplier management for global marketing-related spend, including creative agencies of record, media planning and buying, omnichannel, website development and support. Accountable for cost optimization, supplier innovation, and risk mitigation while partnering with Marketing stakeholders to enable business growth and brand objectives. Reporting to the Senior Director, Global Commercial Procurement. Travel to Jazz US and global offices/supplier sites as required.
Essential Functions
Category Management
- Develop, execute, and improve category strategies for marketing spend aligned with business objectives.
- Analyze market trends and benchmark costs to identify savings and innovation opportunities.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on industry players, threats/opportunities, and terms.
- Manage end-to-end competitive sourcing (specifications, SOWs, performance terms/acceptance criteria) and efficient vendor selection with risks identified.
- Negotiate master agreements and associated contracts (SOWs, change orders), budgets, and payment schedules.
Business Partnering
- Partner with Marketing leadership to deliver procurement solutions supporting brand and campaign goals.
- Advise stakeholders to balance cost efficiency with quality and speed-to-market.
- Build cross-functional relationships (Commercial, Quality, Legal, Finance, etc.) to deliver synergies and mitigate roadblocks.
- Challenge the status quo to streamline and simplify processes, systems, and people.
Supplier Relationship Management
- Build strategic relationships with key suppliers for performance, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Lead contract negotiations to mitigate risk and maximize value.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve disputes/performance issues.
- Create governance model, vendor segmentation, KPIs, and infrastructure to support Supplier Business Reviews.
Reporting/Forecasting/Budgeting/Savings
- Partner with Business and Finance to produce annual budgets and re-forecasts.
- Collaborate with Finance for financial inputs for projects, proposals, make-vs-buy, and other scenarios.
- Track and report savings from Procurement engagement.
Required Education, Knowledge, and Skills
- Bachelorβs degree in business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related field; MBA or CPSM preferred.
- 7+ years procurement experience (progressive responsibility), including 5+ years in marketing category management.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent verbal/written communication with ability to tailor messaging.
- Strong planning and analytical skills; financial modeling; Excel and PowerPoint.
- Analytical problem-solver; adapt to changing priorities/deadlines.
- Ability to influence without direct authority.
- Proven track record of significant cost reduction.
- Preferred: biotech/pharmaceutical industry experience; experience supporting Europe/International; Coupa Business Spend Management Platform (all Source-to-Pay modules).
