Role Summary
Process Technician - Visual Inspection (Night Shift) at Lilly. Responsible for the safe operation of highly automated equipment used to inspect syringes and for manual inspection of units. Supports commissioning, qualification, and operational readiness during a project phase, with potential for leadership development, and ensures compliance with safety and Good Manufacturing Practices to maintain a reliable supply of products to patients.
Responsibilities
- Provide commissioning, qualification, and operational readiness support during project phase.
- Adhere to RTP Plant safety policies and procedures, contributing to a safe work environment.
- Adhere to standard operating procedures and current Good Manufacturing Practices to ensure product quality.
- Support leadership on the manufacturing floor by ensuring high safety, quality, and productivity.
- Proactively monitor documentation and product quality; document activities and report issues to supervision.
- Support leadership during troubleshooting; serve as a reliable contact for issue escalation on the shop floor.
- Assist Supervisor in the development and training of shift operators.
- Drive departmental objectives including safety, deviation reduction, productivity, and training compliance.
Qualifications
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Required: Minimum 1-year relevant experience (education may be substituted for experience with manager discretion)
- Required: 2+ years relevant experience in pharmaceutical or equivalent regulated industry
- Preferred: Demonstrated ability to train and coach others
- Preferred: Effective written and verbal communication
- Preferred: Flexibility and problem-solving skills
- Preferred: Scientific/technical degrees or certifications
- Preferred: Knowledge of CGMPs
- Preferred: Experience with semi-automated and automated visual inspection equipment
- Preferred: Experience with pre-filled syringe (PFS) technology
- Preferred: Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems and electronic batch records
- Preferred: Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
