Role Summary

Process Operator (Multiple Shifts) at the Zebulon, NC site. Responsible for operating, challenging and cleaning equipment in accordance with SOPs, JSAs, and batch documents to deliver high quality products safely; monitor for excessive rejects; resolve downtime; perform changeovers and setup to design specifications; ensure regulatory and OSHA compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Operates, challenges, replenishes consumable supplies, cleans equipment, and performs duties required by the business in accordance with cGMPs, Batch Documentation, SOPs, ZSPs and JSAs; maintain area inspection readiness with minimal supervision.
  • Monitor equipment for excessive rejects/stoppages; escalate issues affecting product quality, safety, and line performance using performance data.
  • Apply GSK Production System standards (5S, standard work, problem solving, Gemba, process confirmations, performance management) toward zero accidents, zero defects, and zero waste.
  • Participate in performance management steps and maintain OSW and 5S.
  • Deliver against safety, quality, waste & performance objectives; identify and recommend process improvements or alternative methods to increase efficiency.
  • Act as an expert on operations/process; troubleshoot and resolve minor equipment stoppages.
  • Demonstrate broad knowledge of the job; produce high quality and high quantity work.
  • Utilize required systems/applications (e.g., DELTA, my Learning, Free Weigh, DISY, Active Plant, IP21, SAP basic transactions).
  • Work with associates, assistants, and/or technicians; assist with troubleshooting and provide information to the next supervisory level.
  • Describe the technological theory of operation, product flow, and function/purpose of sensors and related equipment; conduct equipment set up/changeovers and start batch activities to designed specifications; certify on multiple technologies as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1+ years Pharma/Manufacturing experience
  • Must be able to handle up to 40 lbs of materials
  • Ability to work up to 12.5 hours in one shift (if required)

  • Ability to work accurately with figures and information
  • Ability to use and analyze data effectively
  • Mechanically inclined; ability to learn operation, read gauges/instrumentation, and equipment related to production
  • Knowledge of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
  • Data entry, computer and HMI proficiency
  • Knowledgeable of applications such as DELTA, my Learning, Free Weigh, DISY, Active Plant, IP21, SAP basic transactions

Skills

  • Basic reading, writing and mathematical skills
  • Basic computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel)
  • Ability to work accurately with figures and information
  • Ability to use and analyze data effectively
  • Mechanically inclined with ability to read gauges/instrumentation and operate related equipment

Education

  • Not specified beyond the required High School Diploma or GED

Additional Requirements

  • Physical job requirements: ability to climb, kneel, stoop, balance, crawl, crouch, reach, sit, stand, walk, push, pull, grasp, feel, talk, hear, lift; overtime as needed; PPE as required; ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise and moving parts.
  • Other: Shift differential for certain night shifts; 12-hour regular shift with possible 8-hour shifts during initial hire period.
