Process Development Senior Scientist - Synthetic Peptides, Oligonucleotides, ADCs
What You Will Do
Develop innovative solutions for chemical and bio-conjugation process development of hybrid modality drug candidates (antibody drug conjugates, peptide antibody conjugates, synthetic peptides and/or oligonucleotides). Provide technical expertise and translate developed processes toward manufacturing and commercialization.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with synthetic, chemical, and analytical teams to invent synthetic routes and develop safe, robust, sustainable, cost-effective processes for manufacturing
- Drive innovation in synthesis, purification, and characterization of bioconjugates/oligonucleotides/synthetic peptides
- Support cGMP manufacturing and technology transfer to internal and external contract manufacturers
- Advance enabling technologies to improve sustainability and process efficiency
- Ensure process performance via process understanding, modeling, and characterization
- Contribute to drug substance development teams with experimental results, technical updates, documentation, data interpretation, and recommendations
- Work cross-functionally to deliver regulatory documents and support regulatory filings
- Serve as a technical expert in bioconjugation/ADC/oligonucleotide/peptide/process chemistry and manufacturing
- Work independently to meet required deadlines
Basic Qualifications
- PhD (or PharmD/MD) [and relevant post-doc where applicable]
- OR Master’s degree + 3 years scientific experience
- OR Bachelor’s degree + 5 years scientific experience
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in organic chemistry/chemical biology/biochemistry with expertise in ADC, synthetic oligonucleotide, and/or synthetic peptide process development
- Post-doctoral experience (academic/pharma/biotech)
- Hands-on synthesis/purification of peptides/oligonucleotides/ADCs; bio-conjugation experience
- Analytical characterization (HIC-HPLC, SEC, LC-MS, IEX, RP-HPLC)
- Lab automation and data analysis/visualization tools
- Peer-reviewed publications and presentations; strong interdisciplinary teamwork
- Excellent written/verbal communication; ability to multitask and plan/follow through
- Research summary with CV strongly encouraged
