Process Development Senior Scientist (Drug Substance Technologies – Synthetics (DSTS))
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop synthetic routes and scalable chemical processes for synthetic and hybrid drug substances
- Develop safe, robust, efficient, and cost-effective manufacturing processes for clinical and commercial production
- Advance enabling technologies to improve sustainability, efficiency, and process robustness
- Support cGMP manufacturing and assist with technology transfer to internal sites and external CMOs
- Build process understanding via experimentation, process characterization, modeling, and data analysis
- Provide technical expertise, experimental data, scientific recommendations, and documentation to cross-functional teams
- Collaborate to support regulatory filings and author technical sections of regulatory documentation
- Stay current with advances in synthetic/processing chemistry and apply insights to programs
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams (chemists, engineers, analytical scientists, etc.)
- Independently manage projects and deliver high-quality results within timelines
Basic Qualifications:
- PhD (or PharmD/MD with relevant post-doc where applicable), completed by August 2026
OR
- Master’s degree + 3 years scientific experience
OR
- Bachelor’s degree + 5 years scientific experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in Organic Chemistry (total synthesis, reaction methodology, mechanistic chemistry, and/or process development)
- Postdoctoral experience; experience with ADC/peptides
- Publications/patents/conference presentations; strong problem-solving and communication
- Strong organizational/time management; ability to manage multiple priorities
- Research summary with CV (encouraged)
