Process Development Engineer II (Analytical Lead) — Synthetic and Bioconjugation Scale-up Technologies (SBST) Analytics
Responsibilities:
- Design and execute analytical testing, method development, and characterization of critical intermediates (small molecules, siRNA, and/or peptides) to enable bioconjugate development.
- Compile, analyze, and interpret complex datasets; connect findings across experiments and propose actionable next steps.
- Communicate results and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Serve as analytical lead for critical intermediates and bioconjugates; coordinate internal/external analytical deliverables (development, transfer, troubleshooting) to support program milestones.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting to receiving labs.
- Author documentation (procedures, method development reports, characterization reports, ELN entries).
- Build/improve workflows for documentation standardization, data digitization, and sample management.
- Maintain lab and environmental safety and promote a safe lab culture.
- Support equipment upkeep/troubleshooting; maintain organized workspace and plan for resources.
- Train and mentor peers/junior team members.
Qualifications:
- B.S. with 6+ years relevant experience, or M.S. with 4+ years relevant experience (analytical chemistry, biochemistry, biology, chemical engineering, or related).
- Hands-on analytical method development for synthetic molecules (e.g., electrophoresis, HPLC, MS, UV spectroscopy) and software (e.g., Empower).
- Experience transferring methods to internal/external labs and troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated experience serving as analytical lead with internal teams and external CDMOs.
- Strong written/verbal communication; ability to present data clearly.
- Ability to work with minimal guidance, collaborate cross-functionally, and maintain strong documentation.
- Initiative, learning agility, growth mindset.
- Experience with antibodies and/or bioconjugates strongly preferred.
