Process Development Engineer I, Purification Development

Responsibilities:
- Purify diverse pre-clinical biological molecules (including proteins) to provide reagents and therapeutics for research and discovery groups.
- Perform process development for clinical processes.
- Develop technology and automation to increase throughput and efficiency of preclinical manufacturing.
- Document experiments/results in an electronic laboratory notebook; present work at group/department meetings.
- Maintain instruments and troubleshoot instrumental/experimental problems.
- Collaborate with peers while independently executing and troubleshooting experiments.

Qualifications:
- BS in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or Biochemistry with 3+ years biotech/pharma experience; or MS with 0–3 years.
- Strong fundamental understanding of protein purification techniques.
- Experience with downstream development.

Preferred Skills/Tools:
- Akta Explorers/Avants/Pilots; chromatography columns; tangential flow filters; depth filters; HPLCs/UPLCs.
- Empower, Unicorn, JMP, LIMS.

Additional:
- Full-time; standard business hours with flexibility for before/after-hours; on-site in Tarrytown, NY.
- Some travel; available on-site consistently.
- Periodic light-medium weight lifting.
