Role Summary
Process Automation Principal Engineer role leading complex automation initiatives, bridging architectural vision and engineering execution. You will serve as the lead technical expert and hands-on mentor to tackle the most challenging automation problems, setting standards for quality and guiding engineers in building sophisticated solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead Complex Implementations: Design, develop, and deliver high-impact automation projects, establishing a benchmark for technical excellence.
- Mentor and Guide Engineers: Provide technical leadership through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing.
- Champion Best Practices: Drive adoption of development standards, design patterns, and best practices to ensure consistency and quality.
- Act as a Final Escalation Point: Serve as the technical authority for troubleshooting and resolving difficult production issues.
- Technical Design and Review: Lead design sessions and peer reviews for complex automation workflows to ensure scalable, resilient, and maintainable solutions.
- Contribute to Strategy: Provide hands-on feedback to influence tooling, platforms, and long-term technology strategy.
- Optimize the Ecosystem: Lead initiatives to refactor, optimize, and improve the health and performance of the automation portfolio.
Qualifications
- Required Experience: 8+ years in developing, deploying, and maintaining complex automation solutions in a large-scale enterprise.
- Educational Background: Bachelorโs degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- Expert-Level Tooling Knowledge: Experience building automation solutions including bots, workflows, and integrations using modern programmatic techniques.
- Advanced Scripting & Programming: Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Cloud Platform Proficiency: Experience with public cloud (Azure and GCP) and their automation services (e.g., Azure Logic Apps).
- DevSecOps: Knowledge of CI/CD, Git, Docker/Kubernetes, and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform).
