Process Automation Engineer (2nd Shift)

What You Will Achieve
- Provide engineering and automation support for installation, commissioning, testing and qualification, operation, and maintenance of process and automated equipment/systems in a biopharmaceutical clinical manufacturing facility (e.g., single-use bioreactors, ultrafiltration skids, chromatography skids, support equipment, Emerson DeltaV DCS systems).
How You Will Achieve It
- Manage time effectively to meet complex project targets and deadlines.
- Support operation and troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment and control systems.
- Support automation systems for production and ancillary equipment with cross-functional teams.
- Provide on-the-floor operational support as needed.
- Support qualification of new equipment and upgrades.
- Support maintenance department as needed.
- Review equipment process and maintenance history.
- Support investigations, change controls, and audits as needed.
- Provide second-shift coverage.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- Bachelorโs degree (any years experience) or Associateโs degree (4 years relevant) or high school diploma (or equivalent) with 6 years relevant experience.
- Experience with DCS, Emerson DeltaV, Allen-Bradley PLC, and OSI PI.
- Experience in biotechnology manufacturing or laboratory environment.
- Ability to execute SOPs and document entries compliantly.
- Teamwork in a matrix development team.
- Strong analytical/computer skills; excellent oral/written communication.
- Ability to maintain a safe work environment.
Nice-to-Have
- Biological Pilot Plant or commercial manufacturing experience.
- Automation networks (Ethernet, DH+, ControlNet) and SQL/Oracle.
- Facility/equipment commissioning and qualification.
- Experience using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot) and understanding responsible AI practices.
Physical/Mental Requirements
- Access equipment in a clean room (sit/stand/bend/walk).
- Solve complex problems and develop innovative solutions.
Schedule/Environment
- Minimal travel for FAT support; work second shift; clean room environment.
Compensation/Benefits
- Annual base salary: $68,600โ$114,300; bonus target 7.5% (Global Performance Plan). Benefits include 401(k) with matching and additional retirement contribution, paid vacation/holidays/personal days, caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health coverage (medical, prescription, dental, vision).
