Role: Principal Scientist providing strategic biomarker leadership across Cardiovascular & Metabolic and Infectious Diseases/Vaccines programs, focusing on translational and clinical biomarker strategies from early to late development. Responsibilities: develop integrated, decision-centric biomarker plans linked to therapeutic mechanisms, disease biology, and precision medicine; serve as biomarker representative in cross-functional teams; interpret complex datasets; inform key development decisions such as target engagement, patient stratification, and clinical outcomes; evaluate emerging biomarker technologies; communicate findings; mentor biomarker scientists; support scientific publications and collaborations. Requirements: Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent in translational medicine, biomarker science, or related field; extensive experience in translational/clinical biomarker strategy development within drug/vaccine development; expertise in cardiovascular, metabolic, infectious diseases, or immunology; strong understanding of mechanism of action, pharmacology, and clinical endpoints; excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills. Preferred: experience across multiple clinical stages, with biomarker modalities like pharmacodynamic, predictive, or patient stratification; background in cardiovascular/metabolic or infectious disease programs; experience mentoring. High-Value: leadership in biomarker strategies for biologics or small molecules in early to late-phase clinical development, with emphasis on decision-making and translational science; 10% travel; hybrid onsite work. The role reports to senior leadership and involves cross-functional collaboration.
