Role: Principal Scientist, R&D Data, Data Science & AI (DDSAI) focused on Immunology within Johnson & Johnson's Innovative Medicine division. Key objectives: contribute to DDSAI strategy development, partner with Immunology R&D teams, and translate emerging AI and digital health capabilities into practical solutions to enhance research and development outcomes. Responsibilities include defining and executing data science initiatives aligned with TA priorities, designing scalable data and AI solutions, evaluating emerging technologies like generative AI, and improving research workflows through automation and process enhancements. Collaborates with cross-functional teams such as Translational Science, Data Platforms, Medical Affairs, and Clinical Operations.
Qualifications: Masterβs degree in engineering, mathematics, or related scientific discipline with at least 4 years of relevant experience (PhD preferred), including experience in pharmaceutical R&D, healthcare, or data science. Must have skills in translating scientific needs into data-driven solutions, assessing advanced AI technologies, and working with healthcare datasets (clinical, imaging, real-world, biomarkers). Demonstrated ability to operate in matrixed environments, strong problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills required.
Preferred: Advanced degree, experience in Immunology or related therapeutic areas, proficiency with analytical tools (Python, R, SQL), and familiarity with machine learning, workflow automation, and digital health solutions. Location: onsite in Spring House PA, Cambridge MA, Titusville NJ, Raritan NJ, or La Jolla CA, with travel as needed.
