Role: Chemical Process Engineer supporting API process transfer and clinical manufacturing at Lilly’s new Medicines Foundry. Responsibilities: operate and troubleshoot kilo-scale equipment (reactors, filtration, drying); apply chemical engineering principles for scale-up, crystallization, and filtration modeling; evaluate process safety and review technical documentation; perform lab trials, technical transfers, and process improvements; support quality investigations and ensure GMP compliance. Requirements: BS or MS in Chemical Engineering, 4+ years in pharma process development, pilot plant, or chemical manufacturing; hands-on experience with kilo/pilot-scale equipment; knowledge of crystallization, filtration, and process modeling; familiarity with FDA cGMP and process documentation. Preferred: experience with software tools (Aspen, Dynochem), polymorph control, and cross-disciplinary collaboration. High-value specifics: support development for biologics, peptides, and bioconjugates, with focus on process transfer to GMP manufacturing; based at Indianapolis with potential limited travel; role involves working in manufacturing and lab environments. Collaboration with process chemists, analytical teams, safety, and quality units; role supports transition from design to steady-state operations during construction and startup phases.
