Role: Principal Scientist leading physics-based engineering simulations within the Development Sciences and Clinical Supply Digital Technologies organization, focusing on biologics and multi-modality pipeline scale-up. Responsibilities: apply CFD and transport phenomena modeling to bioreactor mixing, gassing, and other unit operations; develop and validate scale-down models; mentor junior scientists; shape modeling standards and roadmap; support process characterization for scale-up/scale-down decisions across biologics and small molecules. Requirements: Ph.D. or M.S. in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields with 6+ or 8+ years of industrial/pharma experience; expertise in CFD tools like ANSYS Fluent, COMSOL, OpenFOAM; strong background in transport phenomena, mixing, and mass transfer; experience in bioreactor scale-up, process development, and simulation validation; scripting skills in Python or MATLAB. Preferred: experience with biologics bioprocessing, shear-sensitive biologics, single-use systems, multiphase modeling, and data-driven coupling. High-Value: biologics, biologics process scale-up, CFD, physics-based simulation, process modeling, multidisciplinary collaboration. WorkSetup: hybrid, with 10% travel.
