Role: Principal Scientist leading physics-based engineering simulation within the Digital Insights team to optimize bioprocess scale-up and technology transfer for biologics, small molecules, and other modalities. Responsibilities: conduct CFD and transport phenomena modeling of bioreactor mixing, gassing, and other unit operations; develop and validate scale-down models; provide technical leadership and mentorship; shape modeling standards and roadmap; support cross-functional teams with simulation insights to inform CMC decisions. Requirements: Ph.D. or M.S. in engineering, physics, or related fields with 6+ to 8+ years of industrial/pharma experience; expertise in CFD tools (e.g., ANSYS Fluent, COMSOL, OpenFOAM), transport phenomena, and bioprocess scale-up; strong scripting skills (Python/MATLAB); proven ability to validate models against experimental data. Preferred: experience in biologics, cell culture bioreactor scale-up, shear-sensitive biologics, single-use systems, multiphase modeling, and process development. High-Value: biologics, bioprocessing, CFD, scale-up/scale-down, physics-based modeling, process characterization, and engineering simulation. Work Setup: hybrid (US-based), with ~10% travel.
