Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deploy robust analytical methods to support in-house oligonucleotide synthesis, including novel chemistries and conjugates
- Use advanced LC/MS-MS capabilities to fully characterize novel synthetic oligonucleotides and related species in low- and high-throughput settings
- Help design and manage key data pipelines
- Collaborate internally and externally, representing Oligonucleotide Discovery Analytical Chemistry on project teams
- Support analytical investigations, including root cause analysis, in collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Participate in hiring, mentoring, and training of junior team members, ensuring knowledge transfer and capability development
Basic Qualifications (Required):
- BS with at least 8 years of relevant experience, or MS with at least 6 years of relevant experience in analytical chemistry or a related discipline (or equivalent)
- 2+ years of experience using high-resolution LC/MS(-MS) in a biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or academic setting
- 1+ year using modern mass spectrometry data analysis techniques for biopolymers such as oligonucleotides, proteins, and/or glycans
- 1+ year of experience in high-resolution LC/MS(-MS) method development and method troubleshooting
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in analytical chemistry (or related) with 3+ years of experience
- Professional experience in oligonucleotide therapeutics
- Experience with high-throughput LC/MS(-MS) data acquisition and analysis
- Experience with LC/MS(-MS) analysis of small molecules and/or biologics
- Experience with non-LC/MS characterization (e.g., NMR, X-ray crystallography, UV/Vis, circular dichroism)
- Exposure to drug discovery & development (e.g., in vitro biology, bioanalysis, DMPK, delivery)
- Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills
- Familiarity working in cross-functional matrix project teams
