Role: Principal Scientist in Regeneron's Genetic Medicines team, focusing on preclinical development of targeted genetic therapies for CNS disorders. Responsibilities include designing experiments to assess efficacy, target engagement, and delivery of viral and non-viral therapeutics in small-animal CNS models, as well as optimizing AAV transgene cassettes. Leading a team of associates, analyzing complex datasets, and communicating findings to senior leadership are core duties. The role involves authoring preclinical reports for regulatory purposes and approaching scientific challenges with an engineering mindset within a design-build-test-learn framework. Requirements: Ph.D. in neuroscience, gene therapy, or related field; 5+ years of postdoctoral and industry experience in biotech, genetic medicines, or CNS drug discovery; hands-on molecular biology skills and experience with DNA/RNA therapeutics in small animals; mentoring abilities and strong communication skills.
