Job Summary
- Medicinal chemistry leadership for small-molecule heterobivalent and monovalent (glue) targeted protein degrader projects, advancing compounds across stage gates from Hit Identification through clinical candidate nomination.
Your Role
- Enable expeditious SAR advancement through creative medicinal chemistry design and cross-functional collaboration (Biological Sciences, Computational Chemistry, Structural Biology).
- Independently lead medicinal chemistry efforts on heterobivalent and/or monovalent degrader projects.
- Manage external chemistry efforts at CROs to ensure timely compound delivery.
- Critically analyze data and communicate findings to multidisciplinary teams and leadership.
- Provide clear, focused, transparent project updates across internal departments and senior leadership.
- Make scientific contributions that positively impact company research direction.
- Contribute to and/or author patents, scientific presentations, and publications.
Your Background
Required:
- PhD in organic and/or medicinal chemistry; 8+ years relevant biopharmaceutical/pharmaceutical medicinal chemistry experience, including optimization for challenging drug discovery problems.
- Demonstrated expertise in synthetic organic chemistry (methodologies, transformations, mechanisms).
- Track record advancing small molecules through stage gates (Hit ID to candidate selection), including degrader optimization with ligand optimization Β± structural data.
- Experience managing CRO chemistry efforts.
- Experience partnering with DMPK on in vitro/in vivo optimization of DMPK parameters.
Preferred:
- Experience across multiple drug modalities, including ADC/DACs.
- Hands-on use of computational tools (Maestro, MOE, or similar) to support design and design-synthesize-test-data analysis cycles.
Compensation
- Base pay range: $181,012.05β$200,066.00 annually (may vary by knowledge/skills/experience).
