Clinical Research and Development
Role: Senior analytical scientist leading advanced bioanalytical method development for biologics in AbbVie's CMC research and development. Objectives: develop and validate analytical methods to characterize biotherapeutic proteins, support process understanding, and contribute to regulatory submissions. Responsibilities: independently design capillary electrophoresis and chromatographic methods; serve as analytical lead on development teams; mentor junior scientists; develop QC release and stability methods; support GMP testing; author regulatory documents; engage in scientific dissemination. Requirements: PhD in Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry or related, 6+ years (PhD) or 12+ years (MS) or 14+ years (BS) industry experience; expertise in biologics chemistry, protein characterization, and analytical techniques such as CE and HPLC; proven regulatory experience; leadership and collaboration skills. High-Value: biologics (antibodies, multi-specifics, ADCs), CMC development, analytical method validation, GMP support, regulatory interactions. Work setup: full-time, on-site in South San Francisco, requiring daily in-person collaboration with local and global teams.
