- Lead the design of rigorous experiments to address core questions in hearing biology that drive drug discovery and preclinical programs
- Develop and characterize novel animal models to understand mechanisms of hearing loss and evaluate novel therapeutics
- Design and execute in vivo and in vitro functional assays to understand syndromic and non-syndromic hearing loss
- Work cross-functionally to develop translationally relevant studies
- Analyze and evaluate data with rigor, presenting findings internally and externally
- Draft and review protocols and articles for publication independently
- Motivate, develop, and supervise junior scientists, research associates, and other trainees
This Role Requires:
- Ph.D. with a strong record of innovation and publication, plus 5+ years of relevant experience
- Proven expertise in drug development
- Strong ability to work independently and in a team; communicate effectively across all levels
- Resilience in overcoming challenges and a rigorous approach to scientific work
- Preferred: managerial experience
- Preferred: in vivo experimental experience
- Preferred: strong understanding of human and mouse genetics and/or auditory physiology
