Role: Principal Scientist leading research in engineered CAR T and eTCR T cell therapies within BMS's Cell Therapy Thematic Research Center, focusing on cancer and chronic disease treatments. Responsibilities: direct the discovery and optimization of innovative cell therapies through in vitro functional assays (cytotoxicity, cytokine production), design and refine genetic constructs including logic-gated circuits, and translate findings into in vivo xenograft efficacy studies. Serve as a scientific leader, mentor junior scientists, and collaborate cross-functionally across labs, computational teams, and external partners to inform drug discovery decisions. Contribute to IND-enabling documentation, patents, and publications. Qualifications: Ph.D. in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Bioengineering, or related; 4+ years postdoctoral/industry experience demonstrating leadership of independent research programs; expertise in immune assays, gene delivery methods (lentiviral, AAV), and genetic design; strong communication skills. Preferred: experience with in vivo models, advanced technologies (CRISPR, HT imaging), and AI applications. High-Value: focus on cell therapy modalities (CAR T, eTCR), preclinical development, immunology, genetic engineering, translational research, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams. Work setup: roles may require onsite presence at BMS's Seattle location with some flexibility.
