Role: Principal Scientist in Drug Discovery within the Animal Health R&D division, leading early research programs from target identification to proof-of-concept. Responsibilities: identify novel molecular targets and technologies, oversee multi-disciplinary research (medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, disease models, formulation, toxicology), and interface with internal teams and external partners. Requirements: PhD or DVM/VMD with Board certification in pharmacology; at least 8 years of industry experience in drug discovery or preclinical research focusing on in vivo pharmacology, with expertise in areas such as oncology, diabetes, respiratory, immunology, cardiology, pain/inflammation, or reproduction. Knowledge of regulatory standards (GLP, GCP, GMP), project management skills, and strong scientific communication are essential. Preferred: additional pharmacology board certification, experience managing collaborations, and licensing external technologies.
